Valentine Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Swirl is a show-stopping dessert perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or a cozy date night. This moist bundt delivers rich cocoa flavor with a hint of red velvet flair and a creamy cheesecake-style swirl hidden inside for a touch of indulgence in every slice. Finished with a tangy cream cheese drizzle, it’s elegant, romantic, and surprisingly easy to bake for special occasions. The aroma alone makes the moment memorable, and it feeds twelve with a luxurious finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a bundt pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Mix in sour cream, milk, vanilla, and red food coloring. Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Pour half of the cake batter into the bundt pan. Spoon cream cheese filling evenly over the batter, avoiding edges.
  7. Top with remaining cake batter and gently smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Whisk icing ingredients until smooth and drizzle over cooled cake before serving.

Notes

  • Bring cream cheese to room temperature for a smoother swirl.
  • Do not overmix once dry ingredients are added to keep the cake tender.
  • Dust with extra cocoa powder or powdered sugar for presentation.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
