  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the glaze:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter with granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into balls, then flatten slightly with your fingers or the back of a spoon.
  7. Brush tops lightly with melted butter and sprinkle the brown sugar-cinnamon mixture to create a swirl pattern.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to form the glaze. Drizzle over cooled cookies.

Notes

  • For a deeper swirl, press the cinnamon-sugar mixture into the dough before baking.
  • Do not overbake; cookies will continue firming as they cool.
