Slow Cooker Parmesan Garlic Chicken and Potatoes: Creamy, cheesy, and effortless crock pot dinner featuring juicy chicken and tender potatoes bathed in a garlic Parmesan sauce the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • lbs baby potatoes, halved
  • 1 cup garlic Parmesan sauce (halal and gluten-free)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease your slow cooker with olive oil.
  2. Place the halved potatoes in the bottom of the crock pot. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Arrange chicken breasts over the potatoes.
  4. In a bowl, mix garlic Parmesan sauce, heavy cream, and grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and potatoes, making sure everything is well coated.
  6. Sprinkle dried parsley on top.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until chicken is fully cooked and potatoes are tender.
  8. Stir gently before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Yes, you can put chicken and potatoes in a slow cooker; this method cooks them together to a tender finish.
  • Raw chicken can be cooked in a slow cooker with potatoes, as long as you cook it to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Layer the potatoes on the bottom so they cook evenly; avoid overcrowding the slow cooker.
  • Common Parmesan chicken mistakes include under-seasoning, not using enough cream/cheese for the sauce, or cooking too long and drying out the chicken. The dairy-based sauce in this recipe helps keep the chicken moist.
  • To keep this dish gluten-free, ensure the garlic Parmesan sauce you use is gluten-free.
