- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- Optional: red pepper flakes or fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large deep skillet or pot, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in milk and vegetable broth, then season with salt and black pepper.
- Add uncooked pasta, gently pressing it down to submerge.
- Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Cook for 10–12 minutes until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning until creamy.
- Remove from heat and let sit 1–2 minutes to thicken further.
- Garnish if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- Use penne or linguine to help sauce cling to the pasta.
- For a thicker sauce, simmer a bit longer or add a splash of cream.
- To make vegan, substitute dairy butter and cheese with plant-based versions.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for 3–4 days.
