Description

Crispy Cabbage Burger Bake is a delicious, low-carb dinner idea that recreates burger night with cabbage buns. Juicy beef patties are baked on thick roasted cabbage rounds, becoming crunchy “buns” that keep this gluten-free dish light yet indulgent. Flavored with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and pepper, then topped with melted cheddar, this oven-baked meal is easy, family-friendly, and perfect for gluten-free or low-carb menus. It’s quick, customizable, and crowd-pleasing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 large head green cabbage, sliced into thick rounds
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional toppings: sliced tomatoes, pickles, red onion, mustard or ketchup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place cabbage rounds on a lined baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
  3. Roast cabbage for 15 minutes until slightly tender and lightly crispy.
  4. In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Form into 4 patties.
  6. Remove cabbage from oven and place a patty on each cabbage round.
  7. Return to oven and bake 15–18 minutes until beef is cooked through.
  8. Top with shredded cheese and bake 2–3 more minutes until melted.
  9. Add desired toppings and serve warm.

Notes

  • For best results, let the patties rest a few minutes before serving.
  • Gluten-free and low-carb by nature, no breadcrumbs are needed.
  • Customize toppings with tomatoes, pickles, and onions to suit your family’s taste.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven for a quick dinner.
